Much has been written about the need to reinvent recruitment businesses into full-service human capital management consultancies if we are to remain relevant as an industry.
Say it fast and it sounds easy. The problem for most of us is knowing how even to begin to contemplate this process, let alone understanding what might be possible.
In this session, Rob Davidson will interview two successful CEOs whose businesses have undertaken this transformation – Rob Bromage, founder and CEO of intellihr and Kelly Quirk, CEO of Harrier Human Capital.
The format is very much a fire-side chat with each quest, in turn, telling the story of how they reinvented and repositioned a relatively small firm into a larger, diversified and more sustainable business. They will discuss the challenges they faced and the lessons they learned both a personally and professionally on this journey
In Rob’s case, he has taken a Brisbane based recruitment business and used it as a platform to fund the development of an integrated talent management technology platform, intellihr. Rob’s is a compelling story which demonstrates what is possible when an intelligent and committed founder is prepared to put in the hard work and sacrifice to reinventing both himself and his business. Intellihr is now successfully competing against its larger competitors on the national and global stage.
Kelly’s story, by contrast shows what is possible when a good small business has the courage and the foresight to appoint a seasoned global executive to guide its reinvention and expansion. Harrier was well known as a Perth based RPO and recruitment business operating predominantly in the mining and oil and gas sector. Under Kelly’s guidance, Harrier has transformed itself into a diversified, national business providing total talent management solutions. Kelly will address the reasons she was attracted to this opportunity and the learnings she and the company have gained in the transformation process.
We all learn best through story-telling. The hope is that the stories that Rob and Kelly share will inspire other business owners and leaders to believe that they too can take positive steps to reinvent their business, regardless of its current size or location.
